Meet Our New Office Assistant Katie

Hi!  My name is Katie.  I’m the new Office Assistant at Dr. Chamberlains office and I’m grateful to be here.  Since I’ll be meeting you all eventually, I thought I’d introduce myself so you’ll know a little about me.  So here are a few tidbits about me and what I enjoy:

  • I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the outdoors.  Give me any activity outdoors and I’ll probably love it!  I’ve always loved hiking in the mountains and I recently tried a new hike in Logan called the White Pine Lake hike that I can’t wait to revisit.  The beautiful scenery along the 8-mile trail reminded me of Yellowstone–it was gorgeous.  Recently I’ve got an itch to pick up road biking.  I just tuned up my grandpa’s old road bike that he rode past my house while I was growing up, and I’m enjoying the smooth rides along the Legacy Trail.  I LOVE my bike rides.  My Grandpa passed away a few years ago so it makes my bike rides memorable.  Like a trip down memory lane with him.  I have also been working on a “Bucket List:”  a list of things I want to do, or things I’d like to accomplish in my lifetime.  One of the items on my bucket list is to Hang Glide off a mountain.  I FINALLY bit the bullet and recently reserved some tickets and I’ll be checking off my Bucket List,  ”Hang Glide off a Mountain” this month.  I’m excited and scared all at the same time.  But I think I’ll really like it:)

  • I love to Laugh.  I grew up in a large family of seven children and there was always a lot going on—oftentimes, that translated into   C-H-A-O-S.  Luckily,  my family culture was one of much laughter and conversation.  Both my Mom and Dad are quite hilarious–individually and together.  Looking back on my childhood, I believe it was their humor and the frequent laughter in our home that made the chaos seem bearable, and frankly, comical.  I have always loved laughter and truly believe it IS the Best Medicine.  And—it’s Free.  So when chaos creeps in, take some advice from a girl who was a frequent-flyer with Chaos, and sit back, take a deep breath, and share a deep-bellied laugh with a friend or two.

  • I treasure  invisible things.  One thing life has taught me is that there are treasures you can’t see.  And often–they are the best treasures life offers.  For example, when life deals you something hard or hurtful, you are instinctively drawn back to the basics, or should I say, the foundation upon which everything builds upon.  Life has dealt some hard things to me as well.  Through those experiences, I too, went back to my roots, or to the basics which I believe I am founded upon.  These are the treasures I have found and have grown to appreciate and seek for in others.  True Integrity, Loyalty, Trust, Committment, Family, God and Love.  These are my treasures–the best that life offers.

That’s me in a really quick-and-to-the-point  nutshell.  I hope you got a little glimpse of me, and I certainly look forward to meeting more of you.  The journey has been a fun one putting your faces with your names, but I know there are many more yet to meet. So, if you get a minute, please drop in and introduce yourself.  I’d love to meet you and would appreciate getting a glimpse of who you are and what you enjoy.

Til then,

Keep Brushing:)

Katie :)
