A tooth may need a root canal for many reasons. If you value your teeth and want to keep them, a root canal may be prescribed under various conditions and for various reasons. Generally, root canals are done when a nerve (the pulp) is degrading and dying. This can be manifested in many different stages or phases. If a nerve is degrading and there are signs that it is, a root canal ought to be done, even if the tooth doesn’t hurt at the time. The fee for a root canal does not include subsequent restorations, like a filling or a crown. Root canals have a high probability of success, but complications can arise, such as extremely narrow canals, undetected extra canals, perforations of the root, inadvertently broken instruments. We take all the care and caution we possibly can, but the unexpected can happen.

Removing a tooth is necessary when decay or an abscessed tooth is so severe that no other treatment will cure the infection. Removing the tooth can help keep infection from spreading to other areas of your mouth. A tooth extraction should be done as soon as possible to avoid the spread of infection and more serious problems. In cases in which a root canal treatment might not save the tooth, it might be recommend that the tooth be removed and a bridge or implant installed.

A dental laser is a type of laser designed specifically for use in oral surgery or dentistry. Dental lasers have many benefits, as the use of a laser can decrease morbidity after surgery, and reduces the need for anesthetics. Because of the cauterisation of tissue there will be little bleeding following soft tissue procedures, and some of the risks of alternative electrosurgery procedures are avoided.
